At Comprehensive Care we are always striving to improve our services and technology. In order to continuously exceed our client's expectations we are always identifying new technologies which will allow us to better care for our client's employees. Understanding how technology will allow us to be more effective and cost efficient are critical components of our business philosophy.
Outlined below are a sampling of some of the technologies we utilize on a daily basis to better serve our clients:
Slit Lamp (Traumatic Eye Injuries):
Comprehensive Care has a special room with equipment decicated to treating eye injuries. Traumatic eye injuries need to be treated effectively and definitively from the very first moment.
Unlike most emergency rooms Comprehensive Care has a specialized microscope called a
Slit-Lamp to help us in the evaluation and treatment of traumatic eye injuries. The slit-lamp examination looks at the structures that are at

the front of the eye (the anterior segment or “chamber”):
The EYELID, the SCLERA (white outer structure), the CONJUNCTIVA (membranes lining the eyelid and sclera surface), the IRIS (colored part of the eye), the NATURAL CRYSTALINE LENS, and the CORNEA (thin transparent membrane that covers the iris and the lens).
X-Ray Facility
An x-ray (radiograph) is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Imaging with x-rays involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. A bone x-ray makes images of any bone in the body, including the hand, wrist, arm, foot, ankle, knee, leg or spine.
An x-ray is used to:
-
diagnose broken bones or joint dislocation.
-
demonstrate proper alignment and stabilization of bony fragments following treatment of a fracture.
-
guide orthopedic surgery, such as spine repair/fusion, joint replacement and fracture reductions.
-
look for injury, infection, arthritis, abnormal bone growths, bony changes seen in metabolic conditions.
-
assist in the detection and diagnosis of bone cancer.
-
locate foreign objects in soft tissues around or in bones.
Non-Surgical Back Treatment:
Spinal Disc Decompression is a unique, painless non-surgical procedure developed for the treatment of chronic low back pain and sciatica. More that just relieving the symptoms, it CORRECTS the problem.
Decompression of the discs allows the herniated material to be drawn back into its normal position, relieving pressure on the nerve roots and allowing for re-hydration and repair of the disc structure.

Respirator Fit Testing:
Businesses face unknown chemical hazards. That's why they must use the highest rated respirators, including SCBAs and military-quality gas masks. Healthcare organizations prefer N95 filtering face-piece (disposable) respirators for protecting workers against airborne biohazards such as TB and SARS. Industrial companies have employees using a wide variety of respirators. But the highest protection level can't be achieved if the respirator isn't donned properly.
That's where the TSI PORTACOUNT® Respirator Fit Tester comes in. Passing a quantitative respirator fit test proves that the face-piece is sized correctly and that the person knows how to put it on correctly. The PORTACOUNT® Pro+ Respirator Fit Tester is the only instrument with built-in N95 technology to perform a quantitative fit test on an N95 respirator.
Features and Benefits
-
Measures fit factors greater than 10,000
-
Computes respirator fit factor using microscopic particles in ambient air
-
OSHA-compliant for all respirators, including N95 (Pro+)
-
Optional mask sampling adapters allow fit testing with employee's own mask

Pulmonary Function Testing / Spirometry:
The Renaissance® II Spirometry System offers a range of sophisticated, yet user-friendly features for diagnosing respiratory function in a variety of clinical settings. Clinicians will appreciate the intuitive design and technological capabilities, including a true, real-time graphic display that enables tests to be viewed as patients perform them. The Renaissance II system measures a broad selection of physiological parameters and provides color printout reports. It also has a 1,000-patient memory.
-
Easy to use, quick set-up, no warm-up time. The Renaissance II system's intuitive design includes quick keys for set up, pre-programmed function keys, and audio/visual patient incentives so minimal training is needed.
-
Real-time display allows you to view the test as it's being performed, and the audio-visual incentive helps ensure patient cooperation and quality results.
-
The Renaissance II system meets American Thoracic Society (ATS) standards for accuracy and precision, and uses a disposable flow sensor to minimize the possibility of cross-contamination and reduce staff clean-up time.
-
Wide variety of testing parameters to meet individual needs, including pre/post comparisons, predicted normals and results interpretation.
-
Ability to calculate "Return On Investment" (ROI) so clinicians can immediately calculate the economic advantages of adding the Renaissance II Spirometry System to their office.
Breath Alcohol Testing:

Worker impairment due to alcohol or drugs is a pervasive problem in working environments of all categories… transportation, manufacturing, construction, service industries, and all levels of government and industry. Workers under the influence due to substance abuse are a danger to themselves, a danger to co-workers and customers, and represent a huge cost to government and business that can jeopardize jobs and health in numerous ways .

Audiometric Testing:
The 2500 Automatic Microprocessor Controlled Audiometer, OTO-CHEK, DPU-414 Printer & Paper is ideally suited for industrial, occupational health, physicians and clinics that need to meet O.S.H.A. hearing test requirements. The AMBCO 2500 is an easy-to-use, automatic, microprocessor-controlled, air conduction, pure-tone audiometer for testing hearing. It can be purchased alone, or in a convenient package with an optional printer and Oto-Chek calibration unit.
Ergonomic Assessmnet Capabilities:
The Nautilus® Freedom Trainer™ offers versatility and user-defined paths of motion. Unlike other functional training systems in the marketplace, the machine arms adjust in two planes and are counterbalanced for ease of adjustment in vertical planes. An infinite number of exercises can be performed with the Freedom Trainer™.
Ice Compression:
Where elastic bandages, messy ice packs, and other alternatives offer limited adjustability, the Game Ready™ System allows you to easily adjust pressure, manage temperature, and select treatment time settings?with just the push of a few buttons and the twist of a dial. Now you can simply and simultaneously apply intermittent compression and adjustable cold therapy to deliver the two most difficult-to-manage aspects of the RICE regimen in one easy-to-use treatment system .

Nerve Conduction Studies:
Nerve conduction studies are the “gold standard” diagnostic tool for the assessment of neuropathies, such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Neurodiagnostic testing is also useful in the evaluation of back pain or sciatica, helping to determine the presence of nerve root
involvement in cases of lumbosacral radiculopathy and lumbar spinal stenosis.
We are proud to be using a revolutionary non-invasive in office neurodiagnostic testing device called NC-stat. It assists in our diagnosis and is a great screening tool for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
